Summary: The Senior Solutions Architect is a problem solver and is responsible for the overall execution and organization of the development effort on large-scale technology engagements. The Solutions Architect has the ultimate responsibility of making technologies work together and, as a result, is a key role that contributes heavily towards the success of the project. They are responsible for transforming the requirements into architecture and design documents that can be used by the rest of the team to create the solution.
To achieve this transformation of the requirements the Solutions Architect works with other architects and functional resources across different domains to articulate a technical solution to project requests. Their primary function is to coordinate discovery of solutions and then communicate options with a recommended approach. This function is generally performed early in a project life cycle and is based on the frameworks jointly developed with Enterprise Architects.
The Solutions Architect is also responsible for the guidance of development as well as obtaining buy-in and acceptance of the solution architecture. They must be able to understand and predict how all the pieces will fit together and identify potential issues and risks early in the project effort and develop mitigation strategies / contingency plans for these risks. The successful candidate will have advanced communication and negotiation skills, as well as an innate ability to simplify complex technological concepts and to plan, prioritize and seamlessly integrate all moving parts to deploy successful solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities: Contribute to the functional design of projects. Responsible for the architectural compliance of projects. Deliver solutions that are in the best interest of multiple stakeholders, including those at the project and the enterprise levels. Collaborates with other architects who have stakes in a project- technical architects, business architects, domain architects, or enterprise architects, and marry their various requirements into one solution. Ensure the alignment of multiple solutions with one another as well with business and IT goals. Develop and evangelize high-level architecture strategy. Delivering solution options for a project. Contribute to the development of enterprise technology strategy and be conduits of information in their enterprises. Deliver optimal solutions by resolving competing requirements to lead to optimized solutions, to analyze a situation without bias, making decisions based on what is best for everyone involved. Create synergies and reuse within and across project to help eliminate complexity, leverage enterprise objectives, and get more mileage out of existing investments. Help leverage capabilities across multiple projects as well as extend the existing functionality in appropriate ways. Identify and achieve benefits by taking a cross-project perspective with a vested interest in creating benefits that extend beyond the immediate project. Establish EA standards and strategies by guiding development teams regarding enterprise compliance standards. Secondary Duties: May be asked to work some weekends and/or holidays. May be asked to participate in other activities within the organization not related to department. Builds and maintains relationships with technology vendors. Performs project management and participates in strategic planning. Provides guidance and acts as subject matter expert to less experienced technology roles. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: College degree in Computer Sciences or a related field and at least five years of developed expertise in application analysis, systems development, systems design or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years of ex erience with major technology platforms and variety of technologies (for example IBM mainframe/Unix/Windows, DBMS, programming environments, etc.) including strong experience in software development and design techniques. Experience with operational/ technology strategic and architecture development, preferably within a financial services organization. Working knowledge of project management and development approaches. Strong working knowledge of the banking industry. Strong technical skills with key support applications, (i.e., Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio)
