• Work directly with GCV innovation product managers, life sciences scientists, application experts, and project teams to define functional requirements, and design, configure, and implement control systems.

• Create detailed schematics ensuring all electrical components are correctly integrated and functioning.

• Develop and build solutions using proprietary workflows and high throughput applications.

• Execute and lead services such as system upgrades, system support, and routine maintenance.

• Integrate various automated systems to ensure they work seamlessly together.

• Conduct testing and on-site commissioning of automation systems.

• Provide support for process control product definition at sites in China.

• Provide training to team members and end customers on the usage and maintenance of automated systems.

• Oversee automation projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution.

• Ensure all automated systems and processes adhere to quality standards and regulations.

• Analyze data collected from automated systems to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Automation, or a related field.

• 5 to 8 years of working experience in Biotech and Life Sciences instruments and lab automation.

• Proficiency in programming languages and software used in automation.

• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and control systems.

• Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to work in a challenging environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Fluency in English and Mandarin is preferred.

• Additional knowledge or experience in integrating ELISA, Proteomics, Nucleic Acid extraction, Solid-phase microextraction, and Wide-field fluorescence scanning.

Experiences

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Experience in designing and implementing automated systems.

• Experience writing software for hardware.

• Experience with React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node, and Python.

• Experience with C/C++, embedded systems, and embedded Linux (Open Embedded).

• Ability to handle bus communications, USB, SPI, Network, and robots.

• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.

• Experience guiding teams to create well-tested, resilient applications.

• Experience with robotics and an eagerness to learn.

• Interest in biology and an eagerness to learn.
