About the role

Procurement is seen as a source of value creation and delivery through fully demonstrating Diageo’s scale, applying market knowledge, and exploiting the suppliers’ capabilities in agriculture category and to be part of the agriculture operations model. Procurement delivers value assurance (unit price, standard pack, minimum order quantity, just in time, etc.), value protection (management and minimization of risk), and value creation (value, efficiencies)

Procurement spending in this category has a degree of complexity due to market conditions, suppliers partner around of the region, and the impact on the continuous operation of the Agavera Don Julio, follow the strategy for this category as Local and aligned with the Tequila Procurement Strategy. This role is aligned to categories, which requires a degree of flexibility in leading data needs across all of them.

To handle an area of spend to deliver Diageo’s Procurement imperatives, by leading the creation of outstanding category strategies which;

• Optimize value returned to the business

• Meet the business needs of each market and deliver the required levels of performance

• Mitigate supply risk

• Drive forward thinking to future proof the business delivery

• Support the Sourcing in Agriculture services for Don Julio Agavera Operations to deliver value for Diageo on cost and broader value terms with the support of Agriculture Procurement team.

• Leverage in-depth knowledge and insight of supplier base to deliver against Market important metrics

• Build effective category strategies and tactical plays to lead the supplier base across the suppliers and bidding processes.

• Handle appropriate operational and financial performance relationships with suppliers.

• Implement and embed Supplier Performance Management framework to ensure that contracts deliver value through cost reduction and improved service and quality performance.

• Ensure that Supplier Performance levels continue to improve to meet wider Diageo needs and support key projects & initiatives.

• Stimulate Supplier Capabilities to generate ideas for the future.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of Procurement experience in leading suppliers Progressed through Supplier Performance Specialist, Category Specialist and other roles inside of Procurement. Other progression routes would be through roles with a Planning and Operations and a broad range of experience in negotiations and supplier management experience within a Commercial FMCG environment.

• Build a positive relationship, Influencing skills, and challenge senior partners to gain credibility quickly with key partners

• Exceptional communication skills, verbal, written, and presentation.

• Analytical solid and Financial awareness including a comprehensive understanding of the financial goals & value drivers aligned to the category strategy

• Experience of leading negotiations with suppliers

• Building and ensuring the execution of the strategy in the Agriculture procurement category.

• Capabilities to present and analyze data and presented in slides with local and global team.

• Values and practices integrity and ethics in all job-related relationships.

• Ability to implement supplier and process change.
