This position reports to Service Manager Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the Service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. Each day, you will execute technical support, act as a specialist, and solve problems in your own area of expertise. You will also showcase your expertise by communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams proactively to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth. This role is contributing to the Electrification Service division. You will be mainly accountable for: *Providing technical support and solving problems in own expertise area via remote or on-site service in any Service category. *Determining effective Service applications, equipment, and methods to develop, market, or manufacture new Service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost-effectively. *Providing technical consulting on Service solutions to management and customers. *Identifying new sales opportunities, proactively communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth. Qualifications for the role Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum of 5 years of field engineering experience preferred (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 additional years of related experience) Demonstrated & ability to build strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision, with strong business acumen Technical skills in testing of power distribution and delivery to include Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Breakers, Switchgear, Relays and Transformers Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers (OEM equipment such as Siemens, GE, ABB, Square D, Multilin relays, and Switzer Relays) Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines (including excitation systems), controls systems and Programmable Logic controllers a plus Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word Knowledge of industrial customer base in geographical area Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% as required Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US Benefits Retirement plan Life insurance Disability insurance Healthcare plan Wellbeing program More about us Electrifying the world in a safe, smart and sustainable way, ABB Electrification is a global technology leader in electrical distribution and management from source to socket.
