Responsibilities Support of engineering design and analysis projects for the commercial and critical power industry Design and analysis of changes to existing Data Centers as well as new building systems and new building design Perform static equivalent and dynamic analysis of structures for seismic loads using hand calculations and structural software Develop Equipment mounting, foundation design and Mechanical/Electrical system support calculations and designs Understand Seismic Qualification of equipment Understand Seismic Nonstructural/Nonbuilding design and Building Seismic force resisting system design per latest codes and all materials Familiar with latest material codes for steel, concrete, cold-formed steel, masonry and wood construction Familiar with the International Building code and building code design Perform reviews, assemble and prepare design reports Lead projects independently and coordinate/delegate assignments to other project team members Perform site walkdowns to identify design solutions and develop cost-effective problem resolutions Perform site inspections and field support for construction of structural designs Develop drawings using CAD software Present project submittals to client and lead internal and external meetings Support proposal development for future structural projects Develop specifications of structural components Develop cost estimates of structural modifications This position requires the use of structural analysis software as well as standard office production software Perform work requiring the application of basic technical principles, theories, standards and concepts. This will include reading and understanding design drawings and technical specifications as necessary to support preparation of project deliverables, such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations Many projects are multi-disciplined and require extensive interface with other staff engineers as well as engineers working out of our offices Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university Minimum of 3 years' experience in an engineering role Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of structural calculations is desired Must be able to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word and Excel Minimum basic level of proficiency in CAD software ETABS software experience strongly preferred Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams Ability to be a lead responsible engineer for a project involving multi-discipline work Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs at client sites Ability to travel between 15-25% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs Preferred Qualifications / skills PE License desired, especially California PE License SE License desired
