Commander, Navy Installations DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES SPECIALIST in Gricignano, Italy
Summary You will serve as a DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES SPECIALIST in the Housing Department of NAVSUPPACT NAPLES. Responsibilities You will assist in the administration, maintenance, weight testing, repair and/or improvement of Ordnance Handling Equipment and logistical data processing systems in support of new ship construction and replenishment programs. You will aid the first level manager in processing Ordnance Handling Equipment and material weighing up to 6,000 lbs, ensuring sufficient personnel are available, and make sure material is handled and stored in compliance with applicable guidelines. You will coordinate with vendor, shipyard, NAVSEA and local technical personnel to investigate and resolve logistics matters. You will perform storage projections to ensure adequate storage is available for incoming items, constantly adjusting needs based on turn-ins and incoming forecasts. You will be responsible for identifying, processing, and tracking the department's building infrastructure repairs, maintenance, and improvements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing analytical or managerial work concerned with receiving, handling, storing, maintaining while in storage, issuing, or physically controlling items within a storage and distribution system including the selection of appropriate storage sites, material handling equipment, and facilities; 2) Performing a full range of stock responsibilities in the areas of inventory control, storage space analysis, security, material and ordnance handling equipment, transportation, packing, and preserving; 3) Utilizing multiple interrelated automated supply databases to provide inventory/supply support; 4) Performing storage and warehousing projections to ensure adequate storage area is available adjusting based on upcoming shipments and turn-ins. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-09 SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree, LL.B, J.D., or have completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. GS-09 COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
