As a vital member of our team, based out of Jacobs’ local Denver office, you will have the chance to work on exciting and engaging large-scale projects and utilize your highway/roadway expertise to serve as a roadway project manager on transportation related projects. You’ll work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business, as well as gain experience working directly with our clients. We want you to be empowered to deliver the boldest solutions for your clients and we will provide resources to help you pursue opportunities that excite you.
You will participate in the development of our business strategy. You will proactively identify and solve complex problems; take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions; and guide others in solving complex issues in specialized areas. We’ll rely on your leadership as you mentor and direct junior staff.
You’ll grow professionally with us as we rise together on impactful projects with a high degree of technical complexity from the concept stage through detailed design and construction services. You’ll be leading multidiscipline planning and design teams to complete tasks within established schedules and budgets and help advance our business development strategies. Your relationships with our clients and communities in the Southwest will support our growth with key and strategic pursuits of traditional planning and design projects as well as alternative delivery opportunities.
Additionally you’ll;
• Lead successful delivery of quality projects from conceptual design through preliminary, intermediate, and final design phases to construction
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
• Manage on-call contracts and sub-consultants
• Prepare scope, schedule, and budgets for projects and task orders
• Prepare or oversee the design for roadway, highway, and/or traffic engineering projects
• Identify creative and innovative solutions based on client, project, and site constraints
• Provide technical guidance, oversight, and perform quality reviews
• Train, direct, and mentor junior engineers
• Coordinate project milestones and workload with other project managers and group leads throughout the Southwest
• Assist and coordinate with client account management leads on project pursuits to win work
• Assist in business development and proposal efforts
• Maintain and/or develop relationships with new and existing clients to determine their needs and manage expectations
• Execute projects using the Jacobs project delivery processes
• Work with a manager of projects to grow your PM skillsets and business acumen
Based in our Denver office, our hybrid work environment provides the flexibility to work as an integral member of our Southwest team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer License (PE)
• At least 10-15 years related experience in transportation work with an emphasis on roadway and/or transit design
• At least 2-5 years of transportation project management experience
• Previous Department of Transportation (DOT), County or Municipal experience
• Ability to demonstrate project leadership experience
• Strong OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, MicroStation background
• Strong mathematical, analytical, time management skills
• Understanding of project risks that can affect quality project delivery
Ideally, you’ll also have:
• Experience leading discipline and project teams on multi-discipline infrastructure engineering design and construction projects
• Experience on alternative delivery projects (Design-build, CM/GC)
• Client connections in the Colorado area
• Familiarity with Colorado Department of Transportation (UDOT) plans and specifications preparation a plus
• Familiarity with Autocad/Civil3D
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 products including MS Project and SharePoint
• Professional licensure in neighboring states
