The Opportunity Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Design Electrical Engineer working in the Automation, Integration, and System Protection (AISP) Department. The Design Electrical Engineer will perform routine engineering tasks primarily in the system protection and SCADA discipli What You'll Do Performs short-circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, step-distance coordination, relay settings development, NERC compliance, and coordination studies Apply protection system engineering practices and principles in the following areas: transmission line, bus, transformer, capacitor bank, reactor bank, feeder, generator, motor, and communication-assisted protection schemes Create SCADA point lists, remote terminal unit (RTU) programs, human-machine interfaces (HMI's), meter programs, metering overviews, and calculations under the supervision of a lead engineer Develop complete design packages for site network and communication architectures compliant with the client and regulatory requirements What We Expect from You Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. ABET-accredited program or equivalent required Passed the EIT exam, preferred At least 2 years of engineering experience required Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) Applies current, standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete engineering tasks Develops plans, specifications, and observation reports to see that these items are complete, accurate, and in accordance with sound engineering practice Practices efficiency engineering as it pertains to design selection Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality Works closely with engineering technicians and experienced electrical engineers Performs detailed engineering design and evaluations within specialty Takes ownership of quality Responsible for completing tasks and projects in the allotted time Prepares reports and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projects May participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities within an assigned market Demonstrates a wide degree of creativity and latitude Willing to travel 10-20% of the year Effectively communicates and interacts with clients to ensure we are meeting their needs Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects Must have authorization to work permanently in the US Must have a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain prior to starting date As you consider applying for a position at Ulteig, we encourage you to think outside the box - because we do!
