Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Educator. This is a part-time (24 hours/week) position.

Responsibilities

SCOPE: Working independently, designs, develops, and implements training and education for clinical staff (patient). Determines competency requirements for key clinical and s and designs and develops competency tests. Performs administrative duties such as maintaining training requirements and history and measuring results of training. Prepares and analyzes various management reports related to training programs. Demonstrates knowledge of age specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. This includes physiological, psychological, and developmental differences unique to each group. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include Code of Ethics an -Provide educational expertise to clinical staff to enhance oncology patient care within established clinical protocols. -Conduct studies to determine competency requirement for clinical positions; design and develop competency validation tools which tie to the training competency requirements. -Collaborate with medical providers, practice administrators, nursing leadership and clinical staff in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula. -Initiate clinical skills development programs within the parameters of established clinical and preceptorship models; monitor trends and implement educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters. -Consult with and serve as a clinical resource for clinical management to ensure quality patient care. -Educate technical and clinical staff in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinate in-service training and workshops for appropriate staff. -Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices -Prepare and analyze various management reports related to the training program and consistently reports out to Leadership and Providers. -Perform training administration duties including maintaining history records, maintaining training requirements for each position, measuring the results of training programs, and producing reports. Conduct annual needs assessment to assist in the prioritization of educational needs. -Keep current with industry trends in oncology nursing and practice management for the purpose of enhancing existing programs and developing new ones. -Compile and maintain clinical competency logs/records (check-off sheets) -Perform job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): Education/Training - BSN from an accredited program for professional nursing education. MSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements. Business Experience - Five years nursing experience in oncology setting. 1 year of educator or nursing leadership experience preferred. Specialized Knowledge/Skills - Oncology certification required.
