We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Greenville, South Carolina for a Software Engineer on our Improving Health Outcome team. This position can be hybrid ( working from both office and home), with a schedule to be determined by business needs.

As a Software Engineer II, you will develop code, authors documents, and tests software services that support IHOs clients including dashboards, reporting, and integration with other systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Software and Report Development

  • Develop software solutions and new features or reports to improve patient outcomes

  • Author technical requirements, design, and user documentation for new features

  • Participate in functional design reviews

  • Develop test plans and test cases , and run tests to validate the correct and efficient operation of features

  • Utilize a variety of systems/software tools to compile and prepare reports, graphs, and charts

  • Communicates status of assigned initiatives to relevant stakeholders and management

    Supporting Development Embedded in Customer Owned Systems

  • Provides customers with architecture, data elements list, and other artifacts to enable local implementations of AMA MAP reports and metrics

  • Guides customer technical teams to develop, deploy and test AMA MAP reports and metrics that are used to assess, compare, and track performance within their electronic medical record (EMR) or data warehouses

  • Develop mutually agreed upon plans and timelines with customer and AMA IHO

    Data Analytics

  • Develop clinical data analytics and carry out analysis based on electronic medical records to validate monthly data feeds

  • Develops clear, concise ways to portray metrics, measures of success , and comparator data

  • Interpret and explain analytical results to IHO management as well as clinical staff, health care organization quality improvement staff and client management

  • Assist in preparing and writing internal and external communications and reports

    May include other responsibilities as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree a plus

    2. Minimum 3+ years of experience in software development required; experience in one of the following areas: health care informatics and analytics; quality improvement evaluation highly preferred

    3. Proficiency in a SQL based relational database management system, Python, PHP, HTML and BI/graphical rendering tools such as Tableau

    4. Formal training in EMR architecture and services (preferably EPIC or Cerner) is a plus

    5. Demonstrated experience in the analysis of complex health related studies

    6. Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment with potential for rapidly changing priorities

    7. Strong organizational skills, must have the ability to work on multiple projects at one time

    8. Strong technical writing skills

    9. Detail oriented, must be able to ensure the integrity of the work product by producing accurate information

    10. Polished interpersonal skills; the ability to form relationships with external stakeholders that will facilitate open communication and the sharing of information

    11. Approximately 5-10% travel may be required
