Lockheed Martin Senior Lead Painter (4x10 2nd Shift Mon- Thurs) in Greenville, South Carolina

Description: You will be a Aircraft Painter Lead, Paint Technician for the Lockheed Martin Greenville Paint Operations Team. Our team is responsible for Production and Sustainment paint/coating operations on F-16s and other military aircraft prior to delivery to our customers.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Aircraft Painter Lead , you will be responsible for leading a team in safely accomplishing daily work assignments, delivering high-quality products on schedule and within budget. This role will provide first-line oversight for F-16 Paint Production, leading and training crews in the day-to-day hands-on requirements to ensure completion of assignments in accordance with all processes, policies, and applicable technical data. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy of aircraft documentation, collaborate with Quality to ensure the product meets technical data standards, and facilitate the approval process with QA. Additionally, they will promote a culture that values and embraces Foreign Object Damage prevention.

The candidate will be required to:

Lead and motivate multiple teams or manage large-scale projects by driving innovation in painting techniques and processes, mentoring junior painters, and representing the team in cross-functional meetings.

Oversee detailed documentation processes, including creating and maintaining job records, compliance forms, and quality assurance documents, ensuring full traceability of paint materials and techniques in alignment with technical data.

Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), auditors, and engineering teams to resolve technical data issues and discrepancies, ensuring products meet or exceed specified standards.

Execute advanced paint mixing techniques, including adjusting viscosity, managing dwell times, and ensuring proper application under specified atmospheric conditions. Identify and address material issues, such as metallic finishes, to meet stringent aerospace industry standards.

Independently manage tasks to ensure compliance with technical specifications and safety standards, while documenting processes and outcomes with precision.

Effectively manage paint supply inventories and scheduling to prevent project delays, optimize resource usage, and maintain uninterrupted workflows.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in aircraft paint applications and/or high-gloss automotive painting.

Experience with training and mentoring other team members.

Experience with leading and motivating teams or managing large projects.

Experience with interpreting complex paint drawings and translating them into accurate masking and painting actions, including executing color designs, graphics, and handling variations with minimal supervision.

Desired Skills:

Proficiency in advanced painting techniques required to achieve high-quality results in aerospace applications.

Expertise in applying specialized coatings designed to reduce radar signatures, including advanced techniques for aerospace stealth technologies.

Strong ability to interpret and apply marking drawings for major and minor interior/exterior markings and decals, including stripes and two-tone surfaces, ensuring accurate aircraft identification and aesthetics.

Advanced skills in utilizing job software tools such as SAP, Shop Floor Management (SFM), SOLUMINA, and FLEXI for digital masking, pattern design, and virtual paint simulations.

Exceptional attention to detail in the layout, application, and interpretation of marking drawings to achieve precise and aesthetically pleasing results for aircraft identification.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
