The Cook will prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulation, with our established policies and procedures and as may be directed by the Dietary Manager or designee, to assure quality food service is provided at all times. They are also responsible for directing, evaluating, and monitoring the staff assigned to the department, including issuing disciplinary actions as necessary and performing probationary and annual evaluations of employee performance. Job Responsibilities: Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and make only authorized food substitutes. Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures. Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus. Assumes responsibility for tray line and serves on tray line as necessary.
