Actalent Environmental Monitoring Analyst II in Greenville, North Carolina

Job Title: Environmental Monitoring Analyst IIJob Description

We are seeking motivated individuals to join our Environmental Monitoring Team at a global bio-pharmaceutical company that specializes in generic sterile injectable manufacturing. The team is responsible for viable and non-viable monitoring of the manufacturing areas, including air, water, and surface sampling. Samples will be logged in a proprietary LIMS, and cGMP documentation practices will be adhered to. Analysts will also be responsible for processing their water, product, and commodity samples and performing bioburden testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform viable and non-viable monitoring of the manufacturing areas, including air, water, and surface sampling.

  • Log samples in a proprietary LIMS and adhere to cGMP documentation practices.

  • Process water, product, and commodity samples and perform bioburden testing.

  • Sample the entire facility and assist Supervisors with training new hires.

  • Integrate new hires into the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Act as an interim lead for the supervisor as needed.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives when asked.

  • Conduct all bioburden testing on water samples and pharmaceutical product samples.

  • Test commodities for non-viable or viable particulates.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related life science field with 1+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in environmental monitoring.

  • Associates degree or HS diploma with 3-4 years of environmental monitoring experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience gowning and sampling in an aseptic manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with LIMS and MODA systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmaceutical lab setup, cGMP manufacturing, clean room practices, aseptic lab processing, and bioburden testing.

  • Comfortable with gowning in tight spaces, no makeup, no fake nails, no jewelry when sampling.

Work Environment

The role operates in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, interacting with the manufacturing floor and laboratory. The schedule consists of 12-hour shifts on a 2,2,3 rotating basis from 7am-7pm. The team includes 45-50 people split across day and night shifts. Training will be provided, with specific team trainers guiding through TQ's and certification on routine portions of the job over a few months. The role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing schedules. Gowning is necessary, and individuals must be comfortable with the requirements.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
