What you will do

The Wholesale Auditor is responsible for supporting audit activities of the Wholesale Center of Excellence (“WCoE”) relative to VFS wholesale transportation and construction businesses. The Wholesale Auditor implements various wholesale risk management controls and performs specific floor plan audits of key Volvo and Mack dealers, which serve to minimize financial exposure to the Company.

This position requires moderate domestic travel (incl. US and Canada), i.e., estimated at 1-2 travel weeks per month and occasionally, may include traveling on short notice and weekends. The Wholesale Auditor works in the VFS Greensboro, NC office when not travelling and reports to the Manager Wholesale Credit & Risk.

Core Responsibilities:

• Performs scheduled and ad-hoc field and remote audits for various truck and construction dealer locations throughout the US and Canada in order to achieve the primary goal of identifying processes/activities at the dealer level that have the potential to increase risk for VFS

• Performs remote audits by way of analyzing the underlying internal data and records, incl., telematics data, internal dashboards/reports, and IT systems

• Tracks audit performance and reporting of discrepancies including the preparation of detailed audit summaries highlighting potential problems/issues at a dealership(s)

• Performs dealer affiliated lease line audits through analysis of their leasing businesses and associated documentation

• Drives efficient operational turnaround protocols for audits

• Ensures accurate completion of audits, reviews related documentation including establishing dealer files and performs necessary verifications

• Ensures audits’ compliance with any local regulatory requirements as well as Volvo Group and VFS internal requirements

• Works with external, 3rd party audit vendor(s) to coordinate dealers’ multi-location audits

• Provides field support to the Wholesale Credit and Wholesale Operations teams, such as gathering pending wholesale documents while at the dealer and/or collecting past due payments from dealers

• Is prepared to moderate (30%) travels to dealers, etc., incl. on short notice as required

• Interacts with other colleagues, managers and executive management on behalf of Wholesale Audit as required

• Has a change mindset of continuous improvement, i.e., identifies and implements process improvement opportunities in the audit process

• Models The Volvo Way, follows The Code of Conduct and other company policies and procedures as required

• Performs other duties and special projects as required by the business

Education and Experience:

• BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or similar is preferred

• 3+ years’ experience in transportation, truck/construction equipment, financial services or automotive industry

• General understanding of the leasing business is preferred

• General experience with equipment auditing processes and physical auditing is preferred

• Experience in handling challenging situations such as collecting payments, enquiring about incomplete or incorrect information, and/or coordinating repossessions

• Demonstrated technology and MS Office skills, incl., MS Excel such as data extraction, analysis. Prior experience working with PowerBI are a plus.

• Experience in working in a professional environment where multitasking, sound business judgment, attention to detail, a fast pace and a flexible and adaptable approach are valued

• Demonstrated high level of integrity, energy, and a positive customer and quality focus with ability to work within a team environment

• Effective level of ambition and ability to understand team and corporate objectives

• Superior verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English

• Intermediate business writing and analysis skills for reporting and similar

• Proficiency in Spanish and/or other languages a plus
