What you will do

As an Engineer in the Cab Interior and Living team, you will support the development, integration, and application of interior trim components and resting comfort features. You will support life cycle responsibility for various complex Cab Living Interior components or systems - responsibilities include concept development, detailed engineering design, post-production maintenance, problem solving and all related engineering administration tasks.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensures components and systems meet all applicable regulatory demands.

  • Provides engineering leadership to the broader Cab organization, locally and globally.

  • Prepared to be self-sufficient, self-driven and work independently, but eager to lead others.

  • Understands complex injection molded interior component and/or soft trim system designs.

  • Designs and manages deliveries toward project targets for features, cost and timing.

  • Lead cross-functional coordination of interests with counterparts in other departments stakeholders including Purchasing, Product Design, Aftermarket/Parts/Service and Manufacturing.

  • Ensure that all stakeholders needs and requirements are balanced and satisfied as you deliver solutions to our primary customers.

Your future team

Our team, Cab Interior and Living, is a vital part of the Vehicle Engineering function for Volvo Group Trucks North America. Cab Interior owns the trim components including injection molded plastic trim panels, storage cabinets, bunk systems, soft wall trim panels and headliners. Material technologies related to these components include injection molded plastics, thermal formed plastics, textiles, fabrics, leather, foils and laminates and an occasional metal technology. Responsibilities also include the integration of electrical and electronic technologies into the interior systems. We support the full North America product line of Mack and Volvo Trucks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

  • 3-5+ years of related product development engineering experience

  • Experience as an accountable component owner

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Engineering

  • Relevant experience in automotive or related industry
