North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State Unive Assistant Director, Student Activities (SUAB Advisor) in Greensboro, North Carolina

Assistant Director of Student Activities, Student University Activities Board ( SUAB ) Advisor supports the mission of the department and larger division by providing for the direction, administration and coordination of a vibrant, dynamic student activities programs.

The Assistant Director will advise the primary University large-scale programming board ( SUAB ) and provide guidance for the board as they plan and execute events throughout the academic year. This person will also be responsible for being the institutional liaison for the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge Team as well as planning and implementation of all summer programming.

This person also assists with recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising student staff, as well as coordinating campus wide activity programs that support the learning outcomes of the Office of Student Activities.

This person also assists with managing the OSA social media and creating content. The Assistant Director will create a stronger environment to cultivate change and strengthen University goals related to student programming and events as well as other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

The Office of Student Activities oversees the development and organization of the university’s primary extra-curricular programs.

These areas include Student Government, Student University Activities Board, the Fraternity/Sorority Engagement system and Clubs & Organizations, as well as university wide events such as Homecoming, GALA & Aggie Fest.

Requirements:

Master’s Degree in a major field of study to include, but not limited to, higher education, student development, counseling, politics, the social and behavioral sciences, liberal arts, and/or business administration.

One to three (1-3) years experience working with university programming boards and/or planning major campus events.

Preferred:

Master’s degree in Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or Counseling.

3-5 years experience working with university programming boards and/or planning major campus events.

This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. N.C. A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
