Robert Half Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to join our team in the transport industry located in Greensboro, North Carolina. The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the Accounts Payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions, maintaining vendor relationships, and providing leadership to the department staff.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the operations of the Accounts Payable department, guaranteeing the precise and punctual processing of accounts payable and purchase orders

• Ensure adherence to written policies and procedures within the Accounts Payable department

• Maintain control reports and ensure timely payments of vendor invoices

• Manage vendor setups and maintain accurate vendor files and records

• Process all Accounts Payable check runs and ensure credit is received for outstanding memos

• Oversee the disbursement of petty cash by recording entry and verifying documentation

• Handle the request and recording of wire transfers and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments

• Reconcile specific General Ledger accounts and prepare year-end 1099 statements

• Resolve any discrepancies, concerns, questions, or problems raised by employees, vendors, or management

• Prepare and administer departmental annual budgets and provide regular and ad hoc reports to management

• Evaluate employee work and productivity, and mentor and develop employees for improved performance

• Stay updated on trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and to accomplish the accounting and organization mission. Requirements • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Accounts Payable or related field

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Proficiency in Account Coding is required

• Proficiency in Data Processing is required

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions is required

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is required

• Proficiency in Automated Clearing House (ACH) is required

• Experience in Supervising is required

• Experience in Managing Vendor Relationships is required

• Proficiency in Form 1099 is required

• Experience in Performance Evaluations is required

• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Must have strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Must have the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
