GREENFIELD - YEAR ROUND POSITION - PLEASE SEE WEBSITE FOR FULL JOB DESCRIPTION Network Support Technician I (District Wide) Job Description Primary responsibilities: Provides hands-on hardware and software support to faculty and student users at multiple locations Manages and supports the deployment, and collection of technology equipment at assigned school(s) under the direction of the Director of Technology and building principal Troubleshoots computer software and A/V problems either independently or with other IT staff Creates Windows Images and deploys to new or existing computers as required Fields/triages and resolves technology help desk calls and requests for all district sites Ensure all software and hardware is up-to-date and install updates as required Brings unusual conditions or situations to the attention of the Director of Technology Assists staff during professional development training and computer-based assessments, such as NWEA, MCAS, and ACCESS Supports staff in the use of digital technology equipment, keeps work area clean and organized, maintains equipment inventory and related technology resources Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology Administrative and Network Support: Works with Network Manager and Helpdesk Administrator to understand the basic functions and design of the school districts critical network and server systems Manages the schools switch closet uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) including installation, configuration, and renewal and replacement; oMaintains network switch closet Ethernet wiring; oDocuments the physical installations of network servers and switches; oIn collaboration with User Support, terminates network data, voice, and phone wiring; oPerform diagnostics on broadband, Ethernet and networking systems Handling low complexity incidents and service requests, including systems and network devices Manage and maintain the distribution of usernames and passwords for email, Internet access and file server applications Monitor network traffic for capacity and troubleshooting as directed Prepare, create and manage the districts documentation, guides and technology manuals May provide instructional and technology solutions to IT staff Assists Data Manager with School Data Sync, Clever, PowerSchool and other database frameworks. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Network Support Technician, preferred Associates degree in Computer Information Systems preferred or equivalent experience Industry certifications such as CompTIA (A+) or (Net +) would be an asset Candidate must have reliable transportation Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required Familiarity with Chromebooks, Windows 10/11 computers, Macs, iPads, interactive touch screens, projectors, printers, copiers, etc., and related software including Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace for Education Plus apps Evidence of ability to work positively and collaboratively on a team, within the IT department and the greater GPS community A desire to learn new and emerging technologies while upgrading skills by professional development A willingness to apply problem-solving and troubleshooting methodologies, and the ability to recognize and identify trends and develop solutions to avoid recurring issues Ability to interact daily with end users at varying technical competency levels Equal Opportunity Employer Greenfield Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
