ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful adoption of ConcreteDirect in North America and Mexico has necessitated the expansion to a global scale.
This high-autonomy role requires a user-centric mindset and natural curiosity to effectively enhance the experiences of construction project stakeholders. Beyond the user research effort, a key component of the role is to translate visions into high-performance mobile and web application design specifications.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Gathering and evaluating user requirements, including collaboration with managers and developers.
Illustrating design ideas/UI mockups using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps.
Designing graphic user interface elements (e.g. menus, tabs and widgets) and documenting specifications.
Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness).
Work firsthand with the product development team. Lead and document user feedback sessions.
Conduct user surveys and analyze results.
Interview stakeholders at their location of work as required (i.e. construction job site).
Perform product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders (virtual and in-person).
Involvement in the administrative duties of the digital team (vendor management/evaluation, purchase order generation, and payment management).
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science graduate or a related discipline
Required Work Experience: 5 years of experience as a UI-UX Designer or similar role & a professional design designation.
Required Computer and Software Skills: MS Office, Google suite, graphical design software tools, SAP, user survey software, agile product development software experience an asset (e.g. Jira).
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% International travel
Additional Requirements:
Strong skills with designer tools for mocking UI
Strong ability to make UI communicate the path laid out by UX principles
Experience with development collaboration tools – Git
Experience with language-specific UI frameworks in Java/JavaScript/.Net
Understanding of Cloud Native services on AWS.

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
