Description

The Interim Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all financial reporting and regulations. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage a small team, streamline processes, and provide strategic financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.

  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  • Coordinate and assist with audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance workflow and efficiency.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to accounting staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management, highlighting trends and variances.

  • Handle special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.

    Requirements • Must possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred

• Proven experience in the role of an Accountant or similar position

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential

• Extensive knowledge of General Ledger management

• Experience in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries accurately

• Familiarity with Month End Close processes

• Basic understanding of Human Resources (HR) Administration

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion

• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
