CITY OF GREEN BAY Senior Animal Keeper in GREEN BAY, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Responsible for daily care and maintenance of all assigned live animals and physical structures in which they are housed. Cares for and administers medical treatment of injured, orphaned and sick wildlife brought in by the general public. Assists with the supervision of animal keepers, volunteers, wildlife rehabilitation specialists, enrichment/training specialist, and summer maintenance employees in the same activities while on duty. Assists in supervising the Visitor Specialists in the Observation Building relating to questions and information about wildlife and animals. Responsible for maintenance of daily records and files of animal husbandry. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor\'s Degree in Zoology or closely related field. One to two years experience in a zoologically related field or animal husbandry. Supervisory experience beneficial. Valid driver\'s license and good driving record. Broad knowledge of principles and practices of animal husbandry and wildlife management and environment. Skill in animal handling, and wildlife veterinary medical procedures. Skill in directing volunteers and seasonal and specialist staff. Good ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
