Job Title: Carpenter

Job Description

We are looking for a Sheet Metal Foreman to supervise and coordinate activities of the craft personnel engaged in the fabrication, installation, and repair of sheet metal products, systems, and structures. Our company handles all aspects of commercial and industrial construction, including new construction, renovations, and remodels.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, schedule, supervise, and inspect the work of skilled roofers and trades helpers engaged in covering roofs with roofing materials, and oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems.

  • Review and evaluate roofing shop roofers and trades helpers work progress; oversee related administrative functions such as hiring and writing annual performance evaluations.

  • Inspect re-roofing and related roofing work such as installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems while work is in progress and upon completion to determine conformance to specifications.

  • Perform infrared and thermal inspection of roofing systems to determine water infiltration.

  • Evaluate and determine requirements and roofing material needs for various projects and order materials for specific projects.

  • Maintain maintenance and roof system warranty logs and meet with bonding company representatives regarding roofs under warranty.

  • Work directly under the General Manager and communicate daily on current and upcoming projects.

  • Perform related duties as required.

Essential Skills

  • Experience overseeing others in commercial or residential industries.

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools.

  • Ability to work independently and take directions.

  • Reliability with no attendance issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in general labor, roofing, siding, exteriors, sheet metal, installation, repair, and tear off.

Work Environment

Work in a commercial construction environment focusing on small to mid-size projects, with some large-scale projects throughout the year. Normal shifts are Monday to Friday, 7am-4pm, with hours varying depending on the project. Winter months typically offer 36-40 hours per week, while spring through fall may offer 40-50 hours or more. Travel and per diems for specific traveling jobs may be available. Crew sizes can vary between 2-10 people depending on the project. Employees have the option to meet at the shop each morning or go directly to the job site. If meeting at the shop, you can ride along in the company truck.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
