Ideal opportunity for college students and recent graduates interested in social work or related field such as psychology, human services, human development, speech and language disorders, special education, etc. Responsibilities: *Work one on one at our center or in the clients\' (2-21 years) home to provide effective therapy to teach new skills and decrease problematic behavior as directed by behavioral therapist and licensed supervisor *Flexible part-time hours with the opportunities to increase hours. *Receive initial and ongoing paid training in the application of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapeutic techniques. *Provide energetic, enthusiastic, and playful interactions with the clients while receiving ongoing support and supervision *Maintain respectful demeanor, professional boundaries, and client confidentiality at all times *Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: *Candidate must be able to naturally interact to develop rapport with children with a variety of functioning levels *Candidate must display a high level of energy, compassion, and patience *Candidate must possess the ability to be self-motivated and to work independently. *Candidate must display strong critical thinking skills, and creative problem solving *Candidate must treat the child and family with dignity, respect and be non-judgmental while maintaining professional boundaries. *Candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and abide by ethical guidelines ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: *Must be at least 18 years or older *Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent *Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver\'s license and proof of insurance *Must pass a caregiver background check *Must be able to sit on floor, move around, lift and/or maneuver up to 50lb child *Must be able to swiftly and effectively respond to aggressive behaviors utilizing learned behavior management techniques *Prior experience working with children on the autism spectrum is highly preferred but not required as we will train the right candidate ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: E-Mail a Rsum: autism@innovativecounseling.com
