City Of Greeley Project Coordinator - Water & Sewer in Greeley, Colorado

Job Summary: The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating projects involving Water & Sewer utilities. Primary duties include assisting repair crews, coordinating and monitoring private and city utility installation projects, preparing project summaries, providing relevant summary data to asset manager for GIS/ArcMaps, and assisting in the Stand-by and Crossing program. This position represents the W/S department in pre-construction and progress meetings and serves as the point of contact for most in-field decisions. Additionally, this role is part of the ROW permitting process and responsible for reviewing and approving ROW permits on behalf of W/S.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills:

Minimum Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Valid Colorado driving license and a good driving record. Current Class A CDL or ability to obtain one in 6 months. Ability to obtain Class 4 Distribution Operators Certification within 3 years of hire. Class 1 Distribution Operator Certification required for hire, Class 2 preferred. 2+ years' experience in utility or water construction methods and water systems desired. Previous experience supervising or acting as a lead worker desirable. OR Any combination of skills and experience necessary to meet job requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic to intermediate knowledge of overall construction practices and City construction standards. Basic to intermediate knowledge of distribution and transmission systems. Knowledge of equipment operations, basic maintenance and repair, map reading, confined space entry, trench safety, and traffic control. Working knowledge of City geography. Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities. Collaboration skills to work with others from different areas and backgrounds. Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and the ability to learn new software and systems. Interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork. Strong oral, written, and listening communication skills. Organizational skills for setting and meeting goals and deadlines, managing appointments, creating schedules, and making decisions. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and stay on task. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with a team. Strong work ethic, positive problem-solving attitude, and enthusiasm for the work performed. Initiative to self-start and complete daily tasks and special projects. Focus on activities that have the greatest impact on meeting work commitments. Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with various internal and external constituencies. Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ages. Ability to navigate a complex political environment.
