Job Summary:
The Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Operator is an integral part of the plant operations team who communicates and work closely with other treatment plant staff. The WTRF Operator adjusts and monitors wastewater treatment plant equipment, monitors treatment parameters, performs process control lab tests, records data, adjusts the application of chemicals and maintains the operations of the treatment facility, prepares reports, and works on special projects as may be assigned. The position requires being able to work flexible schedules which at times will include working weekends, holidays, evenings, or "on call" shifts.
The Plant currently runs two shifts: Day Shift: 5:30 AM 3:30 PM and Night Shift: 3:30 PM 1:30 AM. This position will work the night shift consisting of 10-hour shifts, 4 nights a week with 3 days off every week, and is located at the Greeley Water Treatment Reclamation Facility.

Minimum Requirements
All Levels:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid and current driver s license. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel. A Operator:
Two (2) plus years of experience in wastewater treatment. Current Class A Wastewater Treatment Operator certification valid in Colorado. Two (2) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants. B Operator:
Current Class B Wastewater Treatment Operator certification valid in Colorado and must obtain Class A Wastewater Treatment Operator certification within two (2) years of hire. One and a half (1 ) to Two (2) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants. C Operator:
Current Class C Wastewater Treatment Operator certification valid in Colorado and must obtain Class A Wastewater Treatment Operator certification within (3) years. Six (6) to Twelve (12) months of experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants. D Operator:
Current class D Wastewater Treatment Operator certification valid in Colorado and must obtain Class A Wastewater Treatment Operator certification within four (4) years. OR
A combination of education, experience, licensure, or certification that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job may be considered by the hiring authority. Preferred
Two (2) or more years of vocational technical school, or a college degree with an emphasis in chemistry, biology, engineering, or wastewater technology. Six (6) months or more experience in wastewater treatment. Class D Wastewater Treatment Operator certification or higher with ability to earn higher licenses as experience and/or education requirements are met. Knowledge of advanced wastewater treatment practices and laboratory water quality parameter testing procedures. Knowledge of state-of-the-art equipment including SCADA systems and wastewater treatment plant instrumentation. Valid Adult CPR certificate is preferred but not required. Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants. Working knowledge of PC-based methods, SCADA and software in Microsoft windows environment including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ages. Ability to think quickly, make swift decisions, troubleshoot, and take action to ensure continuity of operations of the treatment plant. Ability to perform algebraic calculations of chemical feed rates and manually adjust the process pumps to output the feed rates. Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others. Oral, written, and listening communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret what oth rs are saying and convey messages, information, concepts, and details accurately and clearly. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple concurrent and competing tasks and responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining personal effectiveness. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and stay on task when completing special projects and daily assignments. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and reliable professional judgment, as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve desired results.
