Caring Transitions Sorter, Organizer, Packer, Auction Prep Specialist in Great Neck, New York
Caring Transitions of Great Neck delivers professional, courteous, personalized services to help the elderly and their families in times of transition. We manage relocations and downsizing, conduct online auctions and estate sales, and perform environmentally friendly clean-outs.
We are looking for compassionate individuals with patience who are comfortable working with the senior community and assisting in clients’ homes. Our objective is generally to completely empty the house to make it ready for sale. This is a great opportunity for retirees or stay-at-home parent looking for extra income on the side!
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Sorting through and organizing client’s household belongings. Items will either be moved, sold, donated or disposed of.
Organizing auction items into lots, staging and photographing lots, describing and uploading lots to our CTBIDS.com auction website
Packing and shipping items to winning bidders
Packing/boxing household items to be moved
Unpacking boxes, putting away items and helping the customer resettle in their new home
Moving supplies/boxes within the customers’ homes
Light cleaning
Interacting with customers and their families
Hours: Part-time, variable hours Monday-Saturday with no guarantee of work. Shifts generally will not exceed 6 hours. No two jobs, days or weeks are the same.
Pay: $18/hr

Required for the job:
Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and reliable source of transportation
Must agree to a background check
Fluent in spoken and written English
Must be able to lift 30 pounds
Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods
Must have a smartphone (for scheduling, time-keeping, project management and processing auction items)

Comfortable working in a dusty or dirty environment at times.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make extra money while helping others, and who doesn’t require a consistent work/schedule. Life experience is helpful in this job, but no specific experience is required. Retirees and stay at home parents are encouraged to apply!
