University of Providence Maintenance/Custodian II in Great Falls, Montana

POSITION SUMMARY Become the backbone of our vibrant campus! We seek a dedicated Maintenance Custodial to ensure a clean, functional, and beautiful environment for everyone. Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining sparkling restrooms and public spaces through thorough cleaning and sanitation. You'll also keep our facilities and grounds in top condition through preventive maintenance and minor repairs. Additionally, you'll contribute to the flourishing of our landscaping with tasks like mowing, trimming, and weeding. By collaborating with experienced supervisors, you'll tackle these tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the campus. This role offers the opportunity to make a daily impact on the campus experience. Join us and be the reason our campus thrives!RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities may vary depending on the shift. Shifts are rotated and include the swing and graveyard shift, weekends, and Holidays. Changing fluorescent lights and ballasts. Moving furniture, boxes, desks, file cabinets, chairs, etc.Setting up and taking down tables and chairs for classes, events and programs.Assisting or filling in for custodial staff cleaning bathrooms and offices; mopping, sweeping, etc.Shoveling snow out of doorways, off sidewalks and stairs, and spreading Ice MeltPreparing campus vehicles for tripsPlanting trees, cutting and fertilizing lawn, trimming bushes, planting and weeding flower bedsAssist the Engineer with boilerMaintain the cleanliness of the campus facilities which includes emptying the trash, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping the floors, cleaning the lavatories, dusting, and cleaning the windows, light maintenance as requiredNotify their manager of any problems in the assigned building for cleaning or maintenanceObserves safety standards and practices.Perform other duties as they may be assigned by the manager.REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalency EXPERIENCE:Minimum of two years of experience including knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, irrigation, electrical, mechanical systems (HVAC) and painting. General knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment working conditions.ability to operate tractor mower, sprinkler system, weed eater, and hedge trimmer.
