Akima Avionics Technician in Great Falls, Montana

This position will focus on avionics tasks while performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to support a fleet of MH-139 at Malmstrom AFB, Montana in accordance with United States Air Force approved maintenance procedures and the Supplier approved Ground Operating Procedures (GOP) MH-139A maintenance procedures, as well as other documented maintenance and support procedures. Responsibilities

  • Performs aircraft maintenance transit inspections and fault resolution.

  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories.

  • Performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.

  • Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.

  • Cleans parts, using cleaning solutions, and polishing and lapping compounds.

  • Performs work under general supervision.

  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.

Qualifications

  • Secret Clearance (interim Secret to start).

  • HS diploma or equivalent.

  • Technicians must have previous helicopter experience with a minimum of four (4) years aviation experience.

  • Must be able to pass DOT ground support physical.

  • Must obtain or possess a valid US Passport.
