The Barton County Attorneys Office has an opening for a full-time position of Assistant County Attorney. Duties include representing the State of Kansas in the prosecution of assigned criminal, juvenile, traffic, child in need of care, and care and treatment cases. Depending on experience, the successful candidates primary case assignments may include traffic, juvenile, and some adult criminal cases or may focus only on high-level person felonies. Salary approximately \$100,000 plus benefits.
Must exercise independent judgement, good organizational decision-making skills. Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and must have the ability to interpret laws, regulations, local codes and legal documents. The position requires that the employee have no felony convictions and no misdemeanor convictions for crimes involving moral turpitude or dishonesty.
