Eaton Corporation Test Equipment Technician in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Test Equipment Technician.

The hourly rate for this position is $30.00 per hour. The hours for first shift are as follows; 8:00am - 4:00pm, but can be flexible.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

In this function you will:

• Maintain production and laboratory test equipment including vibration system and environment test chambers.

• Conduct development and qualification tests in accordance with Engineering test requests, drawings, blueprints and procedures.

• Analyze and troubleshooting test equipment problems.

• Design and build basic test setups.

• Collect, analyze and record test data in order to prepare test reports.

• Conduct verification of test equipment.

• Conduct basic troubleshooting and repair of test equipment.

• Carry out ESWP (Electrical Safe Work Practices) and LOTO (Lockout Tagout) in daily tasks. Training will be provided.

Other tasks:

• Comply with Eaton Safety Standards and objectives.

• Maintain complete and accurate records in databases and internal systems.

• Labor reporting as required.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in a technical field (technology/engineering) with one (1) years' experience in a technical field OR High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution and three years (3) experience in a technical field.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Grand Rapids, MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of LabVIEW.

Position Criteria:

• Knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment and troubleshooting test failures.

• Knowledge of dynamic electro-mechanical systems and mechanical power train devices, electronics and basics of programming.

• Effective use of tact and persuasion in dealing with personnel involved with manufacturing processes.

• Position includes standing, bending, twisting and the capability to lift / move up to 40lbs.
