Corewell Health Physician - Pediatric Neurodevelopmental - Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan

The Division of Pediatric Comprehensive Care at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital seeks a Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician in order to enhance and grow a critical clinical program. Michigan State University will honor the appointment of Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital physicians through their application process. Academic appointments will be commensurate to your current rank. The new physician will join 2 Developmental Behavioral physicians and 4 APPs as well as support staff.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to Dr. Meghan Behrmann, Section Chief of the Neurodevelopmental Program and Gerber Endowed Chair in Infant Nutrition and Development, the physician will be expected to foster an atmosphere conducive to excellence in clinical care, quality and patient safety, program development, education, and faculty development. The new physician will support the continued development of the following comprehensive service lines: developmental care of medically complex and developmentally high risk children, NICU follow-up, cardiac neurodevelopmental follow-up, intensive feeding program, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, in-patient NICU and other consult service, general developmental pediatrics, and autism.

Clinical Care:

The physician will provide outstanding, evidence and value-based care to developmental pediatrics patients. They will enhance clinical programs already in place and help to envision and expand the Section to meet the needs of the community patient population.

Education and Academic Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment for residents, medical students, and other learners, promoting excellence in education within and beyond the Section.

Research: Through the partnership with Michigan State University, there is an opportunity to work in research together with four nationally renowned genomics and autism researchers in Grand Rapids. Support for clinical research also exists.

Quality & Patient Safety:

The successful candidate will support a psychologically safe culture of continuous quality and process improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BC/BE in Developmental Behavioral pediatrics

  • BC/BE in Neurodevelopmental disabilities

  • Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the State of Michigan.
