Are you an experienced Payroll Manager looking for your next career opportunity? Our client is seeking a highly skilled payroll professional for a contract-to-hire role to lead payroll operations and ensure seamless processes for their growing team. This is an exciting chance to bring your expertise to a dynamic organization with over 500 employees, including unionized staff, while managing both in-house and manual payroll functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and on-time payments for over 500 employees.

  • Handle union payroll processes, including compliance with collective bargaining agreements.

  • Process manual payroll entries and manage exceptions where automated processes do not apply.

  • Maintain in-house payroll systems, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to support payroll changes, benefit deductions, and reporting needs.

  • Stay up to date with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Troubleshoot payroll issues, resolve discrepancies, and improve payroll processes.

  • Prepare and submit payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders, including audits and compliance filings.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in payroll management with a focus on in-house payroll systems.

  • Expertise in managing payroll for large teams of over 500 employees.

  • Strong knowledge of union payroll processes, including compliance with union agreements.

  • Experience with manual payroll processing and associated best practices for accuracy and efficiency.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in payroll software, Excel, and other relevant tools.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with payroll audits and reporting is a plus.
