Corewell Health Patient Services Representative Resource Center Ambulatory in Grand Rapids, Michigan

There is a flat rate of pay of $21.02 per hour

Mandatory days worked will be Thursday & Friday for the first 12 months. Hours will be 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Additional shifts Monday - Wednesday may be available

Practice & Culture

Team members hired into the Ambulatory - Resource Center will provide temporary clinical staffing support at 200+ Corewell Health- West ambulatory practices; Primary Health (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine & Pediatrics) to adult and pediatric specialties. Assignments vary in length from 1 day (covering ill calls, scheduled vacations, volume coverage, etc.) up to 3-4 months (covering leaves of absence, open positions, etc.). This position does require some travel to various sites around West Michigan. The goal is to keep team members as close to home as possible while meeting business needs. Team members will not be required to travel more than 45 miles (one way) from their home address on file to a work location. Mileage reimbursement is paid if team members are required to travel between sites during the workday.

Job Summary

Provides clerical support to assist in the delivery of quality health care services.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as a concierge - greets and communicates with patients or visitors, including collecting payments and co-payments.

  • Performs clerical functions, including, but not limited to: answers telephone/switchboard; schedules routine patient appointments; orders supplies; generates no-show and recall letters; processes/sorts mail and produces end-of-day reports. May need to document patient phone call in EHR for call routing/resolution.

  • Performs patient registration and check-in: confirms patient demographic and insurance information; assists patients with kiosk registration. Performs patient check-out: schedules follow-up appointments or confirms future appointments.

  • Maintains patient medical records according to standards; uploads Right Fax documents into EPIC. Responsible for basic EMR/HER scanning.

  • Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
