About the unit
3E/G is a unique team structure at Blodgett Hospital composed of two separate units but one team. 3E is a 24 bed Med/Surg unit with some Medical Orthopedic patients while 3G is a 22 bed Orthopedic unit primarily serving Total Joint Replacement Patients. Our team works on both units, providing a variety of patient population experience including Total Joint Replacement, Hip Fracture, Osteomyelitis, and other medical patients. Those working on the 3EG team are part of an exceptional Joint Replacement program that is one of the largest and best in the nation, serving on average 2,800 patients per year. The program has received and maintained Joint Replacement Disease Specific Certification from the Joint Commission as a testament to our teams’ dedication to provide high-quality care.

Scope of work
Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Ensures that the required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.

High School Diploma or Work Equivalent
AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
