Corewell Health LPN Grad Nurse Continuing Care in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Kick off your LPN career with early exposure as an LPN Graduate Nurse! In an LPN Graduate Nurse position, you will have opportunities to shadow in multiple Rehab and Nursing facilities and gain experience with diverse patient populations. You will spend time with clinical leaders, nurse educators, Infection Preventionists and other roles to learn more about the important impact of an LPN in providing high quality, safe care in a skilled nursing environment. You will also learn about career development opportunities within Corewell Health. Once you become licensed, you will be eligible to apply to an LPN position which will include an increase in pay and eligibility for an LPN sign-on bonus!
Job Summary:
The LPN Graduate Nurse will have an opportunity to experience long term care (LTC), sub-acute Rehab (SAR), and multiple specialties in Rehab and Nursing clinical environments with additional exposure to various medically complex situations and hands on experience in preparation for transition into an LPN position. It is expected that LPN Graduate Nurses will successfully obtain certification/licensure from the State of Michigan and transition into a Licensed Practical Nurse role within 90 days of hire.
Essential Functions:
Observes and assists with administering Administers care to a designated group of patients under the direct direction and supervision of a Registered mentoring nurse.
Observes and assists with providing Gives professional nursing care to all patients and their families, by using the delegated, interdependent and independent functions of nursing to maintain the standard of care under the direct supervision of a mentoring nurse.
Observes and assists using Uses the Plan of Care to guide the documentation of the care delivered, demonstrating any necessary revisions for the individual patient. Documents care given using the nursing process and critical thinking skills under direct supervision of a mentoring nurse.
Observes and assists with performing Performs other duties as assigned with supervision of a mentoring nurse.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must be enrolled in final semester of an approved nursing certification program and expected tp successfully graduate by semester's end OR be a recent graduate from an accredited school of nursing who has not yet obtained licensure from the State of Michigan.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
LPN required within 120 days of hire.
