Metro Health (now the University of Michigan Health-West) is looking for a Lead Radiology Tech.

Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Clinical Supervisor the Diagnostic Section Lead will perform general radiographic procedures, orient new technologists, assist in continuing education activities, and make patient flow work assignments for general radiology department.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Require completion of a formal radiographic technology program in an AMA-approved school and successful completion of board registry by ARRT.
• Require continuous ARRT registered.
• Require previous knowledge in the use of information systems and computer literate.
• Require current BLS certification.
• Require 3-5 years Rad Tech experience.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates and develops training of new staff.
2. Maintain certifications, registrations, and education requirements of the hospital and accrediting body.
3. Utilize and effectively use all Radiology equipment and software in the performance of daily responsibilities.
4. Provides safe and effective patient care while performing duties of Radiologic Technologist..
5. Maintain certifications, registrations, and education requirements of the hospital and accrediting body.
6. Will use the principle of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) to minimize radiation dose.
7. Demonstrate the appropriate knowledge of all protocols and procedures.
8. Demonstrate excellent customer service in all interactions.
9. Display consistent proficiency in using AIDET when communicating with patients, visitors, physicians, peers, managers, volunteers, internal and external customers.
10. Performs other duties as assigned. These may include but are not limited to: Maintaining a current knowledge base of department processes, protocols and procedures, pursuing self-directed learning and continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management.
