Corewell Health Lab Path Assistant in Grand Rapids, Michigan

About the unit

The Corewell Health Laboratory System represents a network of clinical and diagnostic laboratories that offer a full range of services to not only meet the needs of the entire complement of Corewell Health patients and facilities, but also the needs of many other non-Corewell Health healthcare providers and systems in the state of Michigan and beyond.

Scope of Work

Works under the supervision within Laboratory. Consistently create an exceptional experience with each contact, via inbound and outbound calls, online chat, email, etc. Adheres to established procedure and quality guidelines in support of Patient Access Services Center performance indicators, as well as Corporate values and codes of excellence. Greet and communicates in a manner consistent with caring and respect and dealing with confidentiality. Serves as a resource to patients, lab clients, and team members regarding specimen requirements and processing. May utilize standard venipuncture techniques to collect appropriate blood specimens.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required

  • Graduate of a phlebotomy training program is preferred

  • 1 year of relevant experience dealing with the public, preferably in the medical or customer service field is preferred

  • Phlebotomy technician certification from National Healthcareer Association is preferred
