Addresses engineering needs to provide end of life asset replacement, technical and project engineering direction in the assigned area(s) of expertise. Responsible for project planning and guiding implementation. Project assignments will be made to maximize performance and schedule benefits and simplify & standardize facility performance. Consults with other Properties, Supply Chain and Retail Operations Department Leadership to coordinate resources as required to accomplish the assigned tasks.

Hybrid Schedule offered: Monday-Wednesday in-office, Thursday-Friday flexible/remote days.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Assignments may include: energy and capital projects, remodels, offices, distribution centers, and gas stations.

  • Responsible for the overall planning & management of capital projects to replace assets at the end of their useful life; oversee multiple projects at one time with the aid of various levels of Project Managers and Coordinators; develop strategies and procedures for executing multiple projects at the same time.

  • Identify system performance outliers and determine whether the assets should be repaired or replaced.

  • Coordinate with partner teams in Construction, Project Management professionals, and Retail Operations.

  • Provide engineering expertise, guidance and technical direction for business partners, based on approved department standards and asset and warranty performance metrics, to assist in project development, quality management and long range project planning.

  • Assist in the evaluation of new technologies, new equipment and system designs that improve the performance of building systems.

  • Think critically to solve problems working with other team members, staff, and design professionals to reach solutions and process improvements consistent with goals and direction given to the team.

  • Initiate projects and guide partners to enable on time, within budget and scope correct projects: partner with other teams to identify energy/engineering projects, barriers and develop options to mitigate problems prior to impacting schedules, budgets & performance; provide evaluations, estimates and studies as appropriate to communicate options and recommendations.

  • Set and gain acceptance of projects schedules; directly and indirectly manages internal and external resources whose involvement leads to success of project; escalate issues with internal and external resources as appropriate.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of practical experience or a Masters Degree and 3+ years of experience in a technical field.

  • Exhibit strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills necessary to accomplish tasks in an efficient and effective manner with junior and senior peers.

  • Experience in corporate environments to navigate personal and cultural networks and a corporate awareness to guide decisions.

  • Working knowledge of mechanical system principles and operation.

  • Functional knowledge of AutoCAD and drawing set management practices.
