Clinical Nutrition Technician- Order Selection

Status: Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly.

Days worked: Monday to Sunday. Every other weekend required.

Shifts: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Location: 1226 Cedar St NE, Grand Rapids, MI.

Starting at $16.44 per hour.

Job Summary

Assists with the nutritional care of patients by answering phone calls to coordinate menu selection, educate patients that are on less complex diets and maintain pertinent patient information in appropriate software program to ensure the patient's nutritional needs are met.

Essential Functions

  • Answers telephone and processes diet orders, special diets instructions, transfers, discharges and guest tray information. May screen diet order for accuracy.

  • Updates and maintains patient data files within appropriate software system/database.

  • Assembles appropriate tray tickets/menus, verifies consistency with appropriate software system/database and troubleshoots variances making changes or adjustments as needed.

  • May write special diets as needed.

  • Provides and posts production tallies for food items to appropriate food service area according to scheduled time.

Qualifications

Required

  • 1 year of relevant customer service experience on phone or face to face; customer service and/or managed health care, basic diet and nutrition knowledge, time management, organizational and risk mitigation skills

Preferred

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • High volume call center and Electronic Medical Record experience
