Job Description:
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for Center Store Merchandising process to drive consistent process to maximize sales. The effective leader will build process, train stores and execute plan to deliver best in class in-stock standards. The position will provide direction to other center store specialists and ensure consistent delivery of programs and process to drive results that matter. Strong focus on Sales driving initiatives, back room process and delivery of in-stock.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Responsible for center store sales and profits for all corporate stores through merchandising plans.
Ownership of Back room process and truck process to ensure timely processing of merchandise and the experience of Door to floor mindset.
Ensure the successful and consistent implementation of comprehensive category business and merchandising plans in collaboration with department directors.
Category plans to include tactics in the areas of assortment, pricing, promotion, shelf placement and coordination with cross functional teams.
Continually monitor and assess performance versus budgeted objectives for department utilizing all resources available such as EIS, stock ledger, known loss reports, scorecards and profit & loss statements.
Ensure Retail Specialists are involved in the development of SpartanNash retail department associates to include providing direction, support, coaching, training, performance and team alignment.
Create, recommend and implement ideas to help stores reach all goals and objectives.
Work collaboratively with Retail Operations team to ensure execution of department objectives.
Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.
Develop and monitor department budget as required.
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Bachelor's Degree (preferred) Marketing, Food Science, Business, Human Resources, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Three (3) years' experiences in Retail Merchandising, store standards, and process improvement.
Ability to manage time given multiple interruptions and priorities, understanding of setting priorities, organizing and coordinating activities effectively in complex situations.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to be accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others.
Ability to build and cultivate a collaborative team.
Strong business communication skills and a high degree of professionalism.
Ability to plan, direct and implement programs and pay close attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to collect data and analyze trends for decision making including financial reports.
Ability to travel up to 75%.
