Lockheed Martin NDT/NDI Engineer - Grand Prairie, TX in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: You will be the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) / Inspection (NDI) Engineer for the Missiles and Fire Control team. Our team is responsible for supporting the NDT scope of work, ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.

What You Will Be Doing

As the NDT/NDI Engineer, you will be responsible for performing engineering evaluations, including defect analysis and NDT methods analysis. You will play a key role in preparing and reviewing engineering specifications, developing new equipment and technology, and providing technical support to various teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

-Performing defect analysis and NDT methods analysis

Preparing, revising, and approving non-destructive technique sheets

-Developing and evaluating new equipment and technology

-Designing and evaluating inspection reference standards

-Providing technical support to manufacturing, engineering, and field personnel

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

-High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks and 1 Year of experience.

-NAS-410 Level II certified / certifiable in Digital Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT).

-Must have demonstrated written and oral communication skills.

-Experience in nondestructive inspection (NDI) of casting, welding, composite structure, and bonded assemblies.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and database utilization.

Desired Skills:

-Hold at least 1 NAS-410 Level 2 or Level 3 certifications in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and either Eddy Current Testing (ET), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle (MT) is a plus.

-Experience with Automated Phased Array UT and Eddy Current Array methods is a plus.

-Experience using Digital Radiography (DR), Computed Radiography (CR), Computed Tomography (CT) and Real Time Radiography Image Intensifier equipment.

-Experience with NDT of castings, weldments, and composite structures.

-Experience using CATIA or other 3D modeling software is a plus.

-Familiarity with both NAVAIR and NAVSEA Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) manuals and processes is a plus.

-Familiarity with industry NDT standards (AMS, ASTM,…).

-Technical writing experience.

-Familiarity with AS9100, and Nadcap audit requirements for NDT special processes.

-The ability to collaborate and work well with fellow team members.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
