Job Title: Ready Mix Driver Wages: $26.00-$29.00
The job of driving a ready mix concrete truck for our company requires the following duties and qualifications.
During the course of a normal workday a ready mix driver is required to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle in urban and rural traffic. They must follow traffic laws and use defensive driving techniques.
The job requires a large number of trips up and down a ladder to clean the truck, check the load and add any additives that are required for that load.
There is also a demand on the driver to cooperate with a large number of different contractors in a professional basis while delivering the load, and a variety of job sites to negotiate safely. The driver is required to lift chutes that weigh up to 50 lbs regularly.
The driver is required to maintain a CDL class A or B license with at least an air brake endorsement, and current health card.
During slack times there is also cleaning and greasing of the truck as well as site cleanup that the driver is expected to perform to keep busy.
