Position Summary
RSI is recruiting for an Environmental Sustainability Specialist 2 who will provide the regulatory compliance knowledge in support of Legacy Management’s (LM) obligation to protect human health and the environment and their post-closure obligation for long-term surveillance and maintenance.

Status: Full-Time
FLSA: Exempt
Hiring Range: $80,000.00 to $95,000.00 peryear.(The anticipated starting salary isbased on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicant’s education, training, and experience.)
This position is required to travel 0-5% of the time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·Prepare sustainability planning and reporting documentation.
·Prepare and participate in presentations.
·Prepare project schedules.
·Update webpages and resource pages with final documents.
·Participate in ISO 14001 audits and management reviews.
·Prepare site/project specific environmental compliance planning documentation, with minimal assistance.
·Review and evaluate proposed actions in accordance with applicable environmental laws.
·Identify and interpret regulatory requirements.
·Prepare and submit regulatory compliance reports, with minimal assistance.
·Review and submit responses to proposed regulatory changes, data calls, and directives in support of DOE LM.
·Conduct policy and compliance reviews and assessments.
·Coordinate internal reviews, final document production, and submittals.
·Integrate and participate in processes that ensure Environmental Management System (EMS) sustainability and compliance targets and goals are recognized and achieved.
·Track progress of requirements until completion and ensure schedules are updated and documents are entered into team and client document tracking systems.
·Update team and processes based on regulation changes and agency protocols and requirements.
·Travel to project sites when necessary.
·Complete assigned trainings and weekly timesheet in a timely fashion.
·Supports LM through executing its environmental program and complying with federal and state laws and regulations; and providing technical document review, research and development analysis support, facilitation services, and meeting support for all environmental requirements.
·Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or related field.
10 years of relevant experience
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Driver’s license
Required Skills and Abilities
Understanding of sustainability requirements related to DOE Order 436.1A, Executive Order 14057, ISO 14001, EISA etc.
Experience with sustainability improvement and sustainability project integration.
Experience developing and updating training materials and manuals.
Experience gathering data necessary to complete compliance reports, plans, and environmental permits.
Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects.
Excellent communication skills.
Skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks independently with little instruction.

Essential Physical Requirements
Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
