Aerotek Material Handler in Grand Island, New York

We are looking for dedicated and reliable Material Handlers to join our team and contribute to our mission of serving our customers effectively. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the seamless delivery of essential products, from aiding researchers in their quest for cures to equipping healthcare professionals with the necessary tools to provide outstanding patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, sort, arrange, count, store, pick, and pack items accurately and efficiently.

  • Prepare and maintain routine documentation and records.

  • Monitor and uphold quality metrics throughout the handling process.

  • Operate various material handling equipment, including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts.

  • Work in temperature-controlled environments, including a +4°C walk-in Cold Room and a -20°C walk-in Freezer.

Essential Skills

Hard Skills:

  • Proficiency in receiving and managing inventory items.

  • Ability to prepare and organize documentation with attention to detail.

  • Experience with material handling equipment operation.

Soft Skills:

  • Dependability and reliability in completing tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all processes.

  • Excellent teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Job Type

This position is Contract-to-Hire, with a duration of 6 months.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site role based in Grand Island, New York.

Work Environment

You will work in a warehouse setting, which may involve lifting items up to 45lbs. Candidates must be comfortable standing for extended periods and operating forklifts/equipment for about 50% of the time.
