As a Medical Biller you will work in a collaborative environment to review bills for accuracy, submitting to the appropriate third-party payers or patients. As a biller you will also follow up on unpaid accounts until a final resolution is found. A Medical Biller - is expected to facilitate all aspects of the secondary and tertiary billing process when insurance coverage is present.

Requirements for working as a Medical Biller
One year experience in accounting and computer preferred
Medical Terminology
Experience with health insurance billing and payment procedures
Completion of High School Diploma or GED
What Medical Billers will do:
Running daily reports
Correcting Electronic Billing system edit reports.
Bill secondary insurance after primary carrier payment
Review, Analyze, and re-bill open accounts
Maintaining a current status of unpaid large dollar accounts, and high aged accounts
Process insurance company refund checks in the Hospital Information System
Handles incoming phone calls and sets up accounts on payment arrangements
Billing appropriate third party payers
