As a Medical Biller you will work in a collaborative environment to review bills for accuracy, submitting to the appropriate third-party payers or patients. As a biller you will also follow up on unpaid accounts until a final resolution is found. A Medical Biller - is expected to facilitate all aspects of the secondary and tertiary billing process when insurance coverage is present.

Requirements for working as a Medical Biller

• One year experience in accounting and computer preferred

• Medical Terminology

• Experience with health insurance billing and payment procedures

• Completion of High School Diploma or GED

What Medical Billers will do:

• Running daily reports

• Correcting Electronic Billing system edit reports.

• Bill secondary insurance after primary carrier payment

• Review, Analyze, and re-bill open accounts

• Maintaining a current status of unpaid large dollar accounts, and high aged accounts

• Process insurance company refund checks in the Hospital Information System

• Handles incoming phone calls and sets up accounts on payment arrangements

• Billing appropriate third party payers
