The Opportunity

This position works out of our Spain - Granada location in our manufacturing site. Our nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow, to keeping adult bodies strong and active. Millions of people around the world count on our leading brands – including Similac®, PediaSure®, Pedialyte®, Ensure®, Glucerna® and ZonePerfect® – to help get the nutrients they need to live their healthiest life.

As the Operational Excellence (OpEx) Engineer , you’ll have the chance to

lead the site Operational Excellence program. The program utilizes Lean Six Sigma tools (LSS), change management, influencer skills and other methodologies to drive continuous improvement across the site.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • More than 10 years of experience in a similar role

  • Deep knowledge of site processes and organization, desirable to have held previously different positions at the plant.

  • Outstanding skills and experience in LSS, Change Management, Problem Solving Tools and Project Management.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead OpEx Roadmap, being accountable of milestones definition aligned with business strategy and their implementation for all the workstreams through SLT involvement.

  • Lead and promote the use of OpEx techniques and tools such as Standard Work, Manufacturing Operating System (MOS), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5S, Operator Care, and Visual Management Control. Assume role of Subject Matter Expert Coaching and Mentoring people of the organization.

  • Accountable for continuous improvement programs leading actively improvement projects and the coordination of whole portfolio initiatives.

  • Lead cross-functional teams managing complex RCA, strategic projects and plant shutdowns, applying LSS methodology and project management tools

  • Responsible of LSS certification process (Green & Yellow Belt, RCA, Focus Problem Solving (FPS), Value Stream Mapping (VSM)) enhancing OpEx culture and skills through the organization.

  • Lead Key Performance Indicators (KPI) related with OpEx and supervise rest of business KPI. Influence Senior Leader Team (SLT) to develop business relationships that promote the efficient and effective utilization of resources to accomplish site objectives.

  • Accountable of site training program: Identifying training necessities; acquiring knowledge of the company’s business processes benchmarking with Abbott or external sites and participating in international Community of Practice (CoPs); and conveying this knowledge to the organization through leading or coordination of proper training activities.
