Actalent Quality Engineer in Grafton, Wisconsin

Job Title: Quality EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team, focusing on product development, inspection requirements, and quality assurance. This role involves reviewing customer purchase orders, supporting product development, defining quality inspections, and ensuring products meet customer specifications. You will also be responsible for supplier and customer qualifications, root cause analysis, compliance audits, employee training, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer purchase orders and support product development.

  • Define and implement nonstandard product quality inspections and evaluation requirements.

  • Set and achieve source inspections for government-related work.

  • Develop, submit, and track requests for deviations/waivers from non-conforming material.

  • Ensure measurement systems are adequate for their purposes.

  • Ensure products meet customer-required specifications and maintain quality documentation.

  • Support supplier and customer qualifications and resolve quality issues.

  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for product and process failures.

  • Conduct compliance audits and document results.

  • Train employees on quality processes and support continuous improvement activities.

  • Prepare internal and external reports and perform internal process/product audits.

  • Advocate for work safety and environmental health and safety (EHS).

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or a related engineering field (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing preferred).

  • Minimum 3 years of cross-functional experience in Quality Assurance and Operations in a high precision manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to read and interpret assembly and component drawings and engineering specifications.

  • Experience with process control tools (Process Capability, DOE, etc.) and analytics.

  • Proficiency in MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Expertise in Lean and Advanced Problem Solving (Six Sigma, 8D, etc.) with hands-on experience.

  • Experience with QMS audit processes.

  • Proven ability to facilitate teams and lead improvement projects.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and excellent listening ability.

  • Positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and strong team collaboration.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Project management skills.

  • Limited travel required: up to 10%.

You will be working in a high mix, low volume environment at our locations in Grafton, WI, and Columbus, NE. Our company is experiencing significant growth, with plans to open at least 40 new plants in the next 5-7 years due to the high demand for power. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
