Siemens has established first UK based Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire. With an initial contract to assemble nearly 80 trains to service the Piccadilly line on the London Underground we are starting to recruit over 300 skilled technical and support colleagues in our Manufacturing Facility.

Looking ahead, we anticipate substantial growth in our operations, with follow-on projects expected to increase the number of trains assembled into the hundreds. Moreover, we plan to expand our site to incorporate maintenance and overhaul activities, demonstrating our long-term commitment to the region and our dedication to encouraging employment and career opportunities.

We're currently seeking an exceptional individual to take the helm as our Manufacturing Programme Manager. This pivotal role underscores the increasing significance of the Goole Manufacturing Facility within Siemens Mobility's Long-Term Rolling Stock Strategy. Based in the vibrant Goole Rail Village, this role offers exciting opportunities for professional growth, with some national and international travel involved.

As the Manufacturing Programme Manager, You’ll be responsible for the success of all Programme and Project management activities at our Assembly Facility at the Goole Rail Village, you will work with Functional Leads, monitoring progress on current contract delivery and supporting bid and proposal submissions for future work.

You’ll make an impact by

  • Working with the functional leads to ensure that production timelines are achieved, on time, to the right standard and on budget.

  • As the Programme Manager you will proactively identify risks and work with the leadership team to ensure effective monitoring and mitigations are in place.

  • Reporting directly to the Manufacturing General Manager you will manage and report on all budget, operational, planning and production matters for all manufacturing & assembly programs.

  • Being part of UK Rolling Stock Manufacturing executive leadership, you will develop and execute strategic initiatives in support of growth and business optimisation in line with the Siemens values.

  • As a member of the wider Siemens Mobility European Manufacturing network, collaborating across plant and functions on manufacturing, supply chain and project topics to deliver successful customer outcomes.

  • As a key function within the business, engaging and supporting sales opportunities and bid development as the need arises.

Your success will be grounded by

  • Ability to promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork to achieve common business objectives.

  • Experience of interacting and building effective high level working relationships with senior internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Leadership of people and teams in large scale manufacturing equipment/production project execution.

  • In-depth understanding of supply chain, manufacturing systems, planning, capacity management and production assembly processes.

  • Degree level qualification in Project Management/Manufacturing or equivalent experience

It’ll be advantageous to have

  • Professional membership or accreditation of a relevant Project Management or Management body.

  • Manufacturing or Final Assembly Project Management leadership in a similar industrial environment.

  • Experience of working across borders and cultural boundaries.
