Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for Reliability/Quality Engineering activities supporting the manufacture of FLIR Cooled Camera Systems and Cryogenic Coolers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Contributes to product development as a sustaining team member supporting FLIR’s Cooled Camera Systems and cryogenic cooler products.

• Conducts product and process qualification planning, environmental testing and reporting for new designs and processes.

• Responsible for fielded reliability metrics and reporting.

• Supports supplier component qualification.

• Coordinates disposition, containment and corrective action for non-conforming material (supplier and customer related).

• Acts as primary Quality and Reliability Representative with suppliers and customers.

• Leads regular quality status & improvement meetings.

• Conducts Failure/Trend Analysis and Analytical Problem Solving and recommends and implements corrective actions.

• Generates quality procedures and work instructions as needed.

• Travels as required to suppliers, customers and/or outside labs as needed.

Job Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering or Technical discipline preferred or 3-5 years of similar experience considered.

• Six-Sigma training and / or certification preferred.

• Lean manufacturing knowledge preferred

• Knowledge and experience in the following is preferred:

• IR or similar technology

• Quality systems ala ISO 9001:2015

• Problem solving methodology and failure analysis tools

• Statistical process control

• Measurement system analysis (Gage R&R)

• Supplier quality

• Hand’s on optical and mechanical inspection skills

• Electro-mechanical shaker systems and environmental

chambers

• MS Office applications (must be proficient with Excel)

• Statistical and reliability software applications (JMP expertise preferred)

• Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.

• Must be able to travel up to 10%.

• Must be able to communicate orally and in writing using the English language.

Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.

Salary Range:

$89,100.00-$120,230.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
