Toyon Research Corporation Field Services Engineer (Ref #2502-G) in Goleta, California

This position is in-person (non-remote).
Toyon is seeking a hardworking, detail oriented and motivated individual to perform a wide range of technical, logistical and administrative duties. The position supports multiple hazard monitoring systems for commercial and government clients, who are primarily located in the greater National Capital Region/DMV area. The Specialist is an integral part of the team, working and coordinating with vendors, third-party contractors and customer personnel to provide successful implementation, verification and sustainment of equipment. The project assignments require a balance of independent work activities at Toyon office in Ashburn, VA and multiple customer sites.
Job assignments include a range of office, laboratory and on-site work. Duties include equipment procurement, material transfer, coordination of vendor services, field deployment and operations support, quality assurance testing, preventative maintenance, equipment calibration, troubleshooting and repair, and project documentation.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:
- B.A. or B.S. in physical science, engineering or equivalent experience in a technical field
- At least five years post-degree work experience is preferred
- Hardworking, self-motivated, reliable, detail oriented, and organized
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of team
- Proven track record of excellent customer service and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Github Gitlab, Atlassian JIRA)
- Proficiency working with basic hand tools and instrumentation
- Ability to lift and maneuver items that weigh up to 50 lbs. with manual lift equipment
- Must have a valid drivers license and be able and willing to travel
- Highly qualified individuals have experience troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing chemical, biological or radiological sensors

The annual pay range for the Field Service Engineer position is $100,000 to $140,000.
The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidates education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
